Maroons Come Back to Win in Dramatic Fashion.Even Season Record at 1-1
Lossing 16-10 and
heading into the bottom half of the last inning, the Maroons scored 7 runs, 5
with two outs to take the game from the Scrubs.Scott's sacrfice fly in the bottom of the
5th left the Scrubs one out away from victory.But that last out never came.Two out, RBI hits by Doug and Chris set the
table for Gene's game-tieing triple.Jesse came to the plate with a chance to win the game.
Jesse had been in this
position once before.During the
Spring 2006 he hit a two out two strike walk-off single to win the regular
season finale giving the Maroons some mommentum heading into the
playoffs.This time Jesse took care of
the job on his first swing lining the game winning single past the short stop
for the win.
The Maroons had some
help from the weather as well.The
Scrubs won the toss before the game but elected to be the visiting team in
order to give their players, who thought the game was cancelled, more time to
get to the field.
