**In a tribute to the impeding demolition of Yankee Stadium, all
commentary, until the bad accounting jokes, will make reference to the
pin-striped jerks.**
The Good: The Maroons
looked like Mantle, Maris, and Mattingly in their prime with the sticks.
Hitting the ball with placement and power, the Maroons racked up 22 runs and,
at times, made Elliott Davis look silly.
The Bad: A present day Mantle, Maris, or
Mattingly could have played better in the field and two out of three of them
are dead. (Of course, Mattingly wouldn't be able to play either because of
the Maroons' strict facial hair policy.)
In the end, Elliott
Davis couldn’t "account" for the Maroons offensive prowess and
ended up "in the red" for runs. The rest of the league is now “indebted” to the Maroons for giving ED
a notch in the loss column. The game
really shows how the Maroons can minimize their “liabilities” and maximize
their “assets”.
