Good defense was
trumped by bad offense as the Maroons fell, 12 to 8, to first place Carolina
First.The Maroons seemed to make all
the routine plays and a few spectacular ones too.Brett made a diving snare of a line drive in the hole at
shortstop and Matt W. stole a three run homer away to end the bleeding in the
five run second inning.In the end,
defense wasn’t enough as the Maroons posted a mediocre .563 batting average
for the game.On the positive side,
Dave came back from his game 1 struggles to pitch a fine game.
