The Maroons climbed back over .500 for the season after beating the Roadies 18-8.  Good offensive numbers were posted by just about everyone involved.  The Maroons slugged for over a 1.000 as a team, a Maroons record, albeit on a short field.
Momentum will be needed going into next week’s game.  Jackson Dawson showed the first chink in their armor, losing to Westside later that same evening.  A win next week would all but assure the Maroons an upper tier seed in the play-offs.
The Maroons will have more to battle that just their opponent; they’ll also have to battle their timeslot.  In 6:30 games, the Maroons are 2-0 with a win margin of more then 10 runs.  But next week’s game is at 9:30, where the Maroons confront a 0-2 record losing by an average of 13 runs.
NOTE: Authorities are investigating allegations that Tim and eight turn of the century White Sox players may have been on the take Monday night.  Say it ain’t so, Tim.
