In one of the most
dominating performances in team history, the Maroons took care of two-time
defending champion and 1st place Elliott Davis, 16-6, in a mercy rule
shortened Monday night game.The 2
through 7 spots in the line up accounted for 16 of 17 of the Maroons runs and
RBI’s.Elliott Davis batted around in
the first inning scoring six runs and were about to score their seventh when
Chris threw behind an ED runner at second base, recording the first of his
two outfield assists on the night.
The Maroons then
equaled Elliott Davis’ feat with 6 runs of their own.With the game tied at six runs apiece,
the Maroons played large and Elliott Davis faltered.Especially good was the defense.Scott came in to pitch with two outs in
the first inning and played mind games with the batters the rest of the
night.The defense behind him played
an errorless game for the first time in Maroons history.
The Maroons are in a
three way tie for second place with Elliott Davis (who we beat) and Westside
(who we lost to).Jackson Dawson
(October 22) is underfeated, so far.
