The Maroons gave up ten runs in the first
inning and the seven more in the second as Messiah Lutheran cruised to their
third victory.Most of the runs were
unearned due to numerous errors.The
Maroons got the defense together to shutout the first place team for the rest
of the game but it was too little, too late.
On the offensive side,
8 fly balls/pop-ups got Messiah Lutheran out of several jams.Still, 11 runs would have won the game if
the defense was up to the task.
Chris was perfect at
the plate for the second game in a row. The two lefties, Scott and Chris,
both have batting averages above the .800 mark. (Plus Grego hasn't gotten out
all season.) In a daring coaching move, all of the Maroons will hit from the
"wrong" side of the plate next Monday vs. the Roadies.
