The Maroons start off
the spring season on a good note with a rout of Sandstorm.Aggressive base running and big sticks
added up to one of the most lopsided victories in Maroon history.Tim, Scott, and Jesse were a combined 13
for 13 from the plate.Alex, Brett,
Scott, and Tim (3) all had homers leading the Maroons to a team record 1.349
slugging percentage.
Scott also provided a
much needed upgrade at pitcher.He
entertained Jesse and the umps while keeping the Sandstorm batters off
balance.The pitching performance
provided some stability to the defense, which was predictably rusty. Still,
Sandstorm was held to eight runs, which was good enough to win the game three
times over.
