It will take a great baseball mind to pick apart the statistics and find the small details that led the Maroons loss to 1st place Messiah Lutheran late Monday night.  Could it have been the league high third 9:30 game?  Could have been the lack of clutch hitting (Only three hits with two outs)?  Could have been the less then perfect defense?  Maybe it was a combination of all the factors.  OR maybe, just possibly, the loss could be traced to the NINETEEN RUNS given up in the last two innings.
With one game left the playoff picture is still very clouded.  Woodruff RD #2 has wrapped up the 8th seed and the Maroons are currently alone in fourth place. However, there is a three-way tie for both first and fifth place.
Messiah Lutheran holds the tiebreaker over the other first place teams and therefore controls it own destiny (They play Five Forks (2-4)).
A win assures the Maroons of the fourth seed and their first ever winning season.  If the Maroons lose, it gets a bit more complex.  Assuming a Five Forks loss, the Maroons would play the winner of the Crossroads/Woodruff RD #1 game in the first round of the playoffs.  If Five Forks manages the upset, then there will be a three way tie for fourth place with two possibilities: · A Crossroads win gives them the 4th seed and the Maroons the 5th seed via the tiebraker. · A Woodruff Rd #1 win gives them the fourth seed and will drop the Maroons all the way to sixth place.
