The Maroons broke out
the big sticks in route to a 17 to 11 win against Woodruff Rd. #2.With a team slugging percentage over
1.000, there were some offensive stat lines that were truly offensive:
· Doug: 4 for 4, 5 RBIs, Double, 2 Homeruns
· Grego: 4 for 4, 4 RBIs, 3 Doubles
· Brett: 2 for 3, 4 RBIs, Double, Homerun, IBB
· Chris: 3 for 4, 3 RBIs, Double, Triple
The defense suffered through some bad
bounces and bad calls.“The Dos” (as
they’re known at church, I believe), took the lead after the second inning
and again after the third.The
Maroons didn’t panic.Instead, they
got clutch. The final nine runs were scored with two outs in the books.At the same time, the defense tightened,
allowing only one more run.
Our competition remains
within the same congregation next week.“The Uno” have only beaten their compatriots so far.However, their other losses have been one
run games.
