Somewhere the ’72
Dolphins breathe a sigh of relief.The Maroons perfect season has come to an end.Forgiving the third inning, the Maroons
outscored Jackson Dawson 6 to 5.However, the third inning did count and it was decisive.The cool fall night combined with a
persistent drizzle contributed to some tough fielding conditions.The ball skipped all around the outfield
and, time after time, the Maroons failed to keep the batter off of second
base.Jackson Dawson won the third
inning 11 to 3 and, thereby, the game.
Tim and Rob, filling in
for Alex and Jeff, had perfect games at the plate.Both had extra-base hits and contributed to 5 of the 9 runs
scored.
While certainly not
invincible, Jackson Dawson has emerged as the team to beat in the YMCA’s
Monday night league.They improve to
3-0 and are winning their games by an average of nine runs.
