The Maroons are above .500 for the first
time in team history thanks to a 15 to 1 rout of Life Spring. The top of the line up provided most of
the offense, racking up 13 RBI’s without the benefit of a homerun.Grego and Chris were particularly
productive.The three and four hole
hitters went a combined 6 for 6 with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. With 15 runs to work with, the
defense didn’t have to be perfect to bring home the victory.New additions Tim and Chris were involved
in several defensive plays and the Maroons used two double plays to keep Life
Spring in check. In fact, if not for
a two out error in the first inning, the Maroons would have had their first
shutout since the fall 2005 playoffs. (Ed Note: It wasn’t my fault.I had to play with a new glove.) Rob pitched well for his first time
on the rubber.Although he walked
four batters, he made pitches when he needed to and none of those runners
came around to score. Big thanks to Willey who filled in
last minute, Tyson style (i.e. no socks), and played well going 2 for 3 with
a run scored and to Beth who scored her first baseball game.
